The first Simple Lifestyle Calendar in 1978 was a Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) project based on ASPI founder Albert J. Fritsch's book 99 Ways To A Simple Lifestyle (Anchor/Doubleday, 1976 & Indiana Univ. Press, 1977). ASPI continues publishing the annual Appalachian Simple Lifestyle Calendar as a way to connect and inform the communities we serve and preserve.
